How to Choose a Commercial Kitchen Hose Reel

A commercial kitchen hose reel keeps a long hose off the floor and within reach, so staff can wash down equipment and floors quickly during a busy shift. Before you buy one, here is what to check.

What to look for in a commercial kitchen hose reel

  • Hose length: a longer hose covers a bigger kitchen without moving the reel. A 16 metre (50 ft) hose reaches most work areas from a single wall point.
  • Pressure rating: kitchens use hot, high-pressure water for cleaning, so check the hose rating. Some heavy-duty hoses are rated up to 2500 PSI.
  • Body material and finish: a powder-coated or epoxy-coated steel body resists corrosion, moisture, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Wall mounting: a wall-mount reel stays near the water source and keeps floors clear, which also helps with safety.
  • Spray valve and accessories: check whether the spray valve is included. It is often sold separately.

Where a commercial kitchen hose reel is used

These reels are common in restaurants, hotels, and food-service kitchens, and also in food processing plants, industrial washdown areas, and healthcare facilities where hygiene standards are strict.
