Numerous brew kettles have a particular sort of fitting called a nipple. It consists of a short pipe with male pipe threads attached to each end. It is constructed of copper, brass, or threaded steel. In order to connect to other fittings, it also has external male pipe threads on both ends. They function as secondary valves for brew kettles as well as connecting hoses.

This nipple comes with a male pipe thread for a simpler connection. A tight and leak-free seal may be achieved while installing the ball valves and other couplers using PTFE tape. You may also use washers and O-rings to seal things up. The last two, however, are not included in the box, so home brewers can choose a PTFE tape in their place. However, regular replacement of the tape is required every few months to preserve the seal of the nipples.
