ABOVE THE COUNTER

Above the bar counter is the area where you may store items such as glasses, bottles, and other bar supplies. You may use this area to keep your bar equipment or to display your liquor bottles. You may also add some decorative objects, like plants or works of art, to make it look even more attractive. There are many tools that are used in a bar. A shaker, jigger, strainer, bar spoon, muddler, ice bucket, bottle opener, and corkscrew are essential tools for a bar. Shakers are used to mix cocktails; jiggers measure ingredients; strainers strain ice; a bar spoon stirs; a muddler crushes ingredients; an ice bucket keeps ice cold; a bottle opener opens beer; and a corkscrew opens wine.
